Notes: This is my fanifesto for the ship. Two beautiful men whose bond includes constant intense eye contact, having fun together, a lack of personal space, flirting, angst, pining, loyalty, and devotion (and I probably forgot some things). If you only know Miami Vice by the things that it gets typecast as, it's not accurate. It was progressive for the 1980s, and was so much more than bikinis, guns, cars, and pastel fashion. It was also very much the opposite of copaganda. Those in power were shown to be the bad guys, and that was the government, police, politicians, and criminals. It also had a diverse cast. But I watch it for the shipping, and it's glorious. 😉

I've been pondering this prompt for a while but the only thing that's fallen out of my head is an angsty, bitter fannix for my childhood growing up with what I now understand to be a narcissistic, anorexic, autistic mother, but what at the time/only knew as the worst person I'd ever met.

So here's a mix of songs, some from my childhood and some that make me think of my childhood.

Notes: In this series, two girls named Daisy and Hazel attend school together in the 1930s—oh, and they also solve murder mysteries. Their friendship evolves beautifully over the series as they grow up, and it's not an exaggeration to call them soulmates. I shipped them even before Daisy was confirmed to be a lesbian, but after that I was especially enamoured with the idea of making a shippy fanmix using period-appropriate music. I finally put it together in 2020! So I think this safely counts for the challenge theme. :)

What's a fanmix?
From Fanlore: A fanmix is a compilation of songs inspired by a fannish source, such as a fandom, character, or ship.

What about these monthly prompts?
The monthly prompts are optional. You can post any fanmix you want, any time! As a little inspiration, I will post a prompt on the 1st of each month.

What if I want to make a mix for my original fiction project/seasonal vibes/some other non-fandom inspiration?
Great! Just use the tag fandom: original. (Read this for more information on how to tag non-fandom mixes.)
