Good morning and welcome to fanmix_monthly's first ever challenge prompt post.

The theme for January 2026's challenge will be…
"everything old is new again"Some possible interpretations: an old fandom you've been in forever, a new-to-you old fandom, only using old songs in a mix… but it's up to you! How old is "old"? I don't know.

Remember, monthly challenges are optional and you're welcome to continue posting un-themed mixes! If you do use the theme, please include the tag challenge 1: everything old is new again.

P.S. Oh, and original/non-fandom mixes are allowed, too. Just use the tag "fandom: original" for original fiction.

Great prompt. :) I made a fanmix some years that would fit this well, but I imagine we need to make a new one in order to post for the theme? I'll see about coming up with something if so. ^^

You're welcome to post old mixes for theme posts, too!

I made this community because I was sad about how many fanmixes disappeared forever when 8tracks went down, so anything we can do to get more fanmixes out in the world is fine by me!

… tho now this gives me an idea for a "post an old/your first fanmix" theme for later this year.
